Just took a great workshop from Casting Director Jackie Lind
through Film Training Manitoba.  She was so positive and really gave everyone involved some real authentic feedback.  She demistified a lot of the casting process and made auditions seem easier to attain.  As a casting director she really focussed on a lot of external forms of direction like, strart with strong energy; bring more of you into the scene; and just listen versus the more internal; “What’s your objective?”;  “What do you want from her?”; or “Pick a stronger action”.  Surprisingly she got the best of us out through this process.  I have a new appreciation for external approaches.  I love her positive energy and her ability to install the beleif that we all had the potential to make this work if we wanted it enough.  She has also mentioned that she would like to push getting more agents into Winnipeg from the outside which I am certainly all for. If you ever get a chance to take a workshop with Jackie Lind – I recommend it highly!!!
